Itinerary

Welcome to Buenos Aires! We'll be waiting you at the airport to take you to your the premium hotel. Get ready to start the adventure!
A transfer will pick you up to take you to the airport ant take your flight to El Calafate. We'll be waiting for you at El Calafate Airpot, our first little city in Patagonia. Once we get to the hotel, we'll have our afternoon and evening to relax and sightsee the place. This bustling town set on the southern shores of Lago Argentina serves as the gateway point to Los Glaciares National Park and the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier. A very small village in years past, El Calafate has blossomed due to the heavy tourist interest in the area. Complete with many fine hotels and museums about the Patagonia region, the town serves as an excellent base camp for those exploring the iconic location.
We'll start early for one of the most breaktaking experience of the trip: Sailing and hiking on Perito Moreno Glacier. Los Glaciares National Park is located in the area known as the Austral Andes in Argentina, in the southwest of Santa Cruz on the border with Chile. Due to its magnificent natural beauty, it constitutes being a wonder of the world, and was declared a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1981. The duration of this tour is about 10 hours, including the transfer and a one-hour visit to the walkways of Glaciar Perito Moreno, 7 km from the port.
After breakfast, we'll take a transfer to El Chaltén, the youngest town in Argentina. This mountain village is located on the riverside of Rio de las Vueltas, within the Los Glaciares National Park at the base of Cerro Torre and Cerro Fitz Roy mountains, both popular for climbing. Called the national capital of trekking, this town is the starting point to venture on the trails of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, the two highest peaks in the region.
After breakfast, we'll take a 1 hour transfer to the river Eléctrico. Once arrived, we start to walk on the trail to Poincenot camp through a forest of Lengas, typical Patagonic tree, having the Blanco River on our right. During our way we do different stops to learn about the typical fauna and flora of our National Park. After an hour, we’ll stop at Piedras Blancas glacier viewpoint where we’ll have the opportunity to take pictures and notice the trace left by this glacier during its setback along the last years. Following our way to Poincenot camp we’ll have an excellent view of Fitz Roy’s massif to get even closer after we cross the Blanco river’s bridge heading the last part of this trail all the way up to Laguna De los Tres. This part is the most demanding one due its elevation gain. You can stay at Poincenot Camp, waiting for the group. But the best is yet to come! Once we arrive to the laguna, we’ll take some time to have our lunch, take pictures and have some rest at the lake shore. After we recover from this last effort, we’ll begin our way down to Poincenot camp and then finally to El Chaltén town. Duration: 8/9 Hours – Distance: 22 Km.
After breakfast, we got onto the trail towards the valley of Laguna Madre e Hija, leaving the Fitz Roy massif behind us to our final destination the valley of Cerro Torre. During the trail, we’ll have enough time to stop at the lakes to take some pictures of the area around and with some luck a small colony of typical Patagonic gooses. After this stop, we continue through the trail towards Cerro Torre’s valley enjoying the emblematic Patagonian forest of Lengas and Ñires till the final part of our trek crossing an old moraine to face Lake Torre and Grande glacier. Once we completed this traverse, we’ll return to town thru Cerro Torre valley along the Fitz Roy river till the classic viewpoint and then reaching a beautiful waterfall called Margarita closing our itinerary returning to El Chalten. Duration: 6 Hours – Distance: 20 Km.
Today, we´ll start driving up to Lago del Desierto for approximately 2 hours. Once we arrived, we'll set up everything for kayaking along this beautiful lake. We´ll have a briefing on paddling technique, the route to be taken, and safety measures. We'll enyoy of 40 minutes of kayaking with several stops to rest, enjoy views of the Huemul and Vespignani glaciers, and chat about the surrounding lake. The water is crystal clear and shallow, allowing us to see the bottom and perhaps spot a trout or two. We make a landing on the beach to rest for about 20 minutes and have a small snack before heading back. On the return journey, we arrive back at South Point of the lake where we leave all the equipment and have free time until the transfer back to El Chaltén (approximately 2 hours). Excursion duration: 7 Hours.
This day we say goodbye. After you have breakfast, we'll arrange a transfer to pick you up and take you the international airport.
