What you'll do

Climbers from all over the world dream about climbing the sandstone peaks of the Wadi Rum area – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – but few of them have the occasion of transforming that dream into reality. The remarkable historical heritage, a warm climate, off-the-beaten track climbing routes, and extremely hospitable locals are just some of the many features that make Jordan a unique and authentic rock climbing destination. Prepare to dive into the unknown for a once-in-a-lifetime experience with the precious support and competence of the Bedouins of Wadi Rum – your guides for the trip – who have decade-long history and expertise in climbing in the country.

Itinerary

Jump on the plane along with your fellow Mapo Tapo climbers and be ready to land in Amman –the Jordan city capital. We recommend arriving the day before, just to rest a bit after the long travel and be ready to start the trip the day after. If you arrive the first day, you must arrive by 1pm - The transfer to Wadi Rum Camp will depart at 2 pm. Together we sightsee the breathtaking Jordan landscapes until the first meeting point is reached: Bedouin Outdoor Camp.
After spending the night in the Bedouin camp, the sport-climbing can begin! We're off to experience some of the best crags of the Wadi Rum protected area, inaccessible without the precious guidance of the local Bedouins. After a full day of climbing, we're back to the camp, where we can shower, eat and drink some tea, resting for the next day.
Be ready to follow the legendary Bedouin Road. You will hike and scramble your way through Jebel Burdah following the Bedouin hunting route, up to the famous rock bridge. Later you will set out camp and bivouac in the desert under the stars.
Good morning desert! We're off again for another adventure. We head back to the Wadi Rum camp and we're off for another climbing activity of the day.
On our way to Amman, we make sure to have a proper hike and tour in Petra – one of the “7 New Wonders of the World”. At night, we sleep in the Jordan capital.
After a good night's sleep and a warm shower, we're off to the airport, in time to catch our flights back home. We recommend leaving in the afternoon after 4 PM.

Siete stati grandi. Mapo Tapo Top

Amazing time spent in an incredible place focused on climbing and enjoying nature and sport. i spent one week in Wadi Rum desert in jordan, the group was great, we slept in tents in the desert, went climbing and scrambling in a well organized trip without useless redundancies. totally suggested!
