What you'll do

Discover the thrill of trad climbing on the unique sandstone towers of Adršpach, Czech Republic, a destination rooted in climbing history and bold ethics. This advanced climbing trip will challenge your skills as go from narrow cracks to delicate smearing, trying technical moves using knots, slings, and unconventional protection like UFOs. Surrounded by stunning forests, you'll tackle finger cracks, fist jams, and offwidths under the guidance of top IFMGA/UIAGM-certified climbers. Between ascents, enjoy great company, local food, and the beauty of this one-of-a-kind climbing paradise.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival and transfer to Czech Paradise

We meet in Prague Airport around 4PM and drive together to the stunning Czech Paradise region. On the way, we’ll get our first glimpse of the iconic sandstone formations at Prachovské Skály, known for their breathtaking beauty and unique climbing opportunities.

Day 2 - Introduction to Czech sandstone climbing

We head to Prachovské Skály to begin climbing on the famous Czech sandstone towers. Starting with an introduction to the ethics of sandstone climbing, we’ll learn how to respect these fragile formations by adjusting footwork and climbing techniques. We’ll also familiarize ourselves with the unique gear used in Czech trad climbing, including knots, slings, and UFOs.

Day 3 - Conquering Kapelník

Today, we take on Kapelník, one of the most famous sandstone towers in the region. Gear up with slings, feel the sandstone under your fingers (no chalk allowed here!), and immerse yourself in the thrill of Czech sandstone climbing.

Day 4 - Progression at Milenci

We step it up with climbs on Milenci, another iconic tower in the area. This day focuses on mindset and strategy, essential for mastering the various styles of sandstone climbing.

Day 5 - Starosta or Starostová – you lead!

It’s your time to shine! We’ll explore routes on Starosta or Starostová, where if you feel ready you can take the lead, choosing your route and applying everything you’ve learned so far about Czech trad climbing.

Day 6 - Farewell climb and return to Prague

We wrap up the trip with a half-day climb to enjoy the sandstone one last time before driving back to Prague, full of memories and stories from the Czech sandstone towers. We should be in town around 4PM, so we suggest to depart at 6-7PM.
