What you'll do

Discover the breathtaking beauty of the Tour du Mont Blanc circuit as you immerse yourself in the splendor of the Alps. Starting from Chamonix, our 5-day guided hike will get you through Val Ferret, Switzerland's La Fouly, Lac to Trient and Col De Balme for an immersive experience around the Italian, French and Swiss Alps.

Itinerary

Day 1 - First dinner together and relax

You will be met by the minibus drivers at 5pm at Geneva Airport (inside the arrivals area, next to the Montreux Jazz Café) or at Vert Lodge at 6pm. You will meet the rest of the group for dinner. Enjoy the sights and sounds of Chamonix, with the magnificent Mont Blanc above you. Settle into your shared room and repack your backpack for the next morning's hike.

Day 2 - Courmayeur to Rifugio Bonatti (2,025 m)

After a buffet breakfast and coffee, we will meet our guide and check our equipment before crossing the Mont Blanc Tunnel towards Courmayeur. Prepare to be amazed by the breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc massif as we ascend the Val Ferret. We will reach the W. Bonatti Refuge (2,025 m) in the afternoon, after a 6 km hike with an altitude difference of 550 meters. We will admire the tranquility of the surrounding environment and prepare for the adventure that awaits us. Distance: 6 km (3.7 mi) | Elevation Gain: +550 m (+1,640 ft) -100 m (-328 ft) | Time: 3-4 hours

Day 3 - Rifugio Bonatti to La Fouly (2,881 m)

We hike across mountainous landscapes from Rifugio Bonatti to La Fouly. Ascend toward the Swiss border and relish stunning views of Mont Blanc's south face. Pause for a well-deserved break before conquering the pinnacle of your hike, the Grand Ferret Pass, standing at 2,881 meters. Our journey continues as we descend into Switzerland, passing a local farm offering delightful cheese samples. Our day culminates in the charming village of La Fouly. Distance: 16 km (9.9 mi) | Elevation Gain: +870 m (+2,854 ft) -1,360 m (-4,462 ft) | Time: 6-7 hours

Day 4 - Champex-Lac to Trient (2,040 m)

We begin the day with a gentle descent through enchanting woods from Champex-Lac. The challenging ascent to Bovine follows, renowned for its delectable rosti. In the afternoon, descend through the iconic Col de la Forclaz, a historic route of the Tour De France cycle race. We complete our day's trek with a picturesque descent to the Swiss haven of Trient. Distance: 18.5 km (11.4 mi) | Elevation Gain: +810 m (+2,657 ft) -980 m (-3,215 ft) | Time: 6-7 hours

Day 5 - Trient to Le Tour, and Chamonix (2,195 m)

Prepare for an early start on our final day of trekking, tracing our steps back into France from Trident. Ascend to the majestic Col De Balme, treating our senses to unparalleled Mont Blanc panoramas. The afternoon offers a pleasant descent through meadows, culminating in Le Tour. A bus ride to Vert Lodge awaits, where we bid farewell to this extraordinary adventure. For those homeward-bound, transfers to Geneva Airport commence at 4:30 pm. Opt for flights post 8:30 pm to accommodate potential mountain or transit delays. Distance: 11 km (6.8 mi) | Elevation Gain: +1000 m (+3,280 ft) -1000 m (-3,280ft) | Time: 5-6 hours

Auberge du Mont Blanc - Day 4

Trient is the essential stage of the “Tour du Mont Blanc” and is on the international road that connects Martigny to Chamonix. Located at the entrance of the village, the Auberge is part of a traditional Swiss atmosphere with its terrace, a bar and a restaurant. The team of the Auberge is glad to welcome you in its establishment.

We had an incredible trip on the Tour Du Mont Blanc with Mapo Tapo! Our guides were INCREDIBLE! Sabrina and Mathieu were extremely knowledgeable and capable, and we felt supported and encouraged throughout the entire trip. The itinerary was curated perfectly to showcase the best parts of the trail and all of our accommodations were wonderful. We could not recommend Mapo Tapo and this trip enough!

The experience was great, the group was fun, and Mark was amazing. The only thing that was missing is handling and food preferences...I have some eating restrictions and it was challenging a bit.

Most everything went great for my TMB trip, right up until I got sick the first night in our refuge. I spoke with our guide who was very kind, but would not allow me to continue on with the group due to my symptoms. I found my own hotel, transportation and food for 3 days while my group did their tour. In that time I saw a Dr, since I could never reach the medical line that Mapo Topo gives. I tried to file an insurance claim, which has repeatedly been ignored. Mapo Tapo responded, but blamed me for not seeing THEIR doctor. The number never worked and apparently you’re supposed to speak to them BEFORE leaving the group. I wasn’t given an option to stay. Between my booking and my additional expenses, I’m out a couple thousand dollars. I’d planned to join them for a trip this coming year to Peru, but now I’m not sure it’s the right decision for me because of how this has played out.
