What you'll do

Join us for an exhilarating 3-day snowshoeing expedition throughthe stunning Ötztal Alps. Surrounded by towering peaks over 3,000 meters,we’ll traverse deep snowy valleys, staying in cozy mountain huts along theway. This trip offers not only breathtaking views but also a chance to learnessential winter survival skills.On the first day, we’ll master the use of avalanche rescue equipment(shovel, probe, and ARTVA). Day two takes us to a high mountain pass, almostreaching 3,000 meters. To top it off, we return on day three with a funsledge ride back to our starting point. This tour blends nature, adventure,and essential training for winter mountain safety.


Itinerary

You begin your snowshoeing adventure in Austria today! There will be a transfer starting from Trento trainstation at 5.30 am, with stops in Bolzano around 6.15 am and Innsbruck at 8.30 am to pick everyone up. Once assembled, we will head to Gries im Sultztal. After a brief introduction to the route and a check of all the equipment, we begin our snowshoe ascent towards the Amberger Hütte. This first day includes a 600-meter positive elevation hike with snowshoes. During the ascent, we will stop for essential avalanche safety training, where you’ll practice using rescue tools like a shovel, probe, and ARTVA. After this hands-on session, we will continue our hike and arrive at the Amberger Hütte. A warm dinner will be waiting, and we will settle into our cozy rooms for the night.
After a hearty buffet breakfast at the hut, we begin our second day of snowshoeing in Austria. This day includes an 850-meter elevation gain as we hike through stunning alpine landscapes, surrounded by peaks that rise above 3,000 meters. We’ll be immersed in the wild beauty of the Ötztal Alps. Weather permitting, we’ll climb close to 3,000 meters in altitude, offering breathtaking views of the snow-covered giants of the Ötztal. Along the way, we’ll enjoy a packed lunch from the hut, surrounded by this winter wonderland. After the hike, we return to the Amberger Hütte for a well-deserved dinner and a restful night.
Our final day begins with another satisfying buffet breakfast. Afterward, we’ll embark on a short descent to an alpine hut, where a fun surprise awaits—sledges! We’ll descend more than 350 meters in altitude using sledges, making for a fun and memorable way to conclude our snowshoeing trip. This unique downhill ride is the perfect farewell to three magical days spent among the breathtaking peaks of Ötztal. We will depart with the transfer that will bring you to Innsbruck airport at 4 PM, stop at Bolzano at 6 PM and arrive in Trento around 6.45 PM.
